Are my mice still OK?
I got some frozen mice for my ball python on Monday, which was 3 days ago. And without thinking I put the mice in the refrigerator instead of the freezer. I just now thought of it and was like "oh no". I don’t know what temperature are fridge is but it is pretty cold. The mice were kinda thawed though. Are they still ok?

Yes they are fine. There are some snakes out there that won’t eat unless they are 2 or 3 days old anyway. As long as they weren’t out on the counter for 3 days they will be fine. You can feed them to your snake.

is my writing any good?
I’m thirteen and I’ve been seriously writing since easter 2009. This is the prologue of a book I’m writing. It is in third person but most of the book is in first person from Sofia’s POV. Please help me improve it.

Silent tears slipped down Sofia’s cheeks as she trudged through the forest, branches snapping under her feet. The pale moonlight illuminated her ashen face and the straggly russet tresses that tumbled over her shoulders. She was trembling; unable to feel the light weight in her arms. For miles, she had been walking through fields and the eerily silent forest where not even the owls hooted. Her legs ached to the point where she just wanted to collapse. That was when she caught sight of the thick cluster of spiky bushes that Chris had told her to head for. In front was a small cluster of yellow flowers that contrasted with the rest of the drab forest.

She fell to her knees, laid her bundle to one side and dug desperately through the soft, crumbling dirt with her bare hands. Her fingers numbed by the cold air and pain of sticks and stones cutting her skin and collecting under her nails. Her arms were covered in hundreds of tiny scratches from the thistles and thorns, but she would just have to withstand the irritation. It was nowhere near as bad as the emotional torture she was suffering from. The hole she had dug was just big enough amidst the brambles. She took a deep breath, as if it were her first, as she wiped a muddy hand across her cheek. Her tears left tracks in the dirt on her face. She laid down what she had been carrying, placing it carefully in the hole, covering it up and mumbling some words. Wobbling slightly, she rose to her feet. As exhausted as she was, she ran out of the dark, dense forest, the crisp night air biting at her cheeks. She just had to get away from that place.

As she ran, she was overcome by a strange sense of relief. She released her emotions by crying her heart out, but somewhere inside, she believed she had done the right thing. Anyone could tell her she hadn’t, but she didn’t really have any other choice. She had argued with herself about it so much that something that at first seemed so wrong, now seemed to be the best thing to have done. Chris made her do it; he didn’t want to be caught but didn’t seem to care if Sofia did. Occasionally she wondered if he cared about anything she did, but he had picked her up off the ground when she most needed it and she couldn’t help but love him for that.

There is no doubt that you can write and it does have style and flow. You have good descriptive powers too and if you are thirteen I congratulate you. There are one or two things which I am sure you will find when you edit it but the fourth sentence of the first paragraph starts with "For miles etc" I would have started that sentence with "She had been walking etc" Print it off and read it out loud and you will hear what needs to be changed. When you do also count the number of times you write the word ’she’ and when writing in the first person, which you say you are doing, try it with the word ‘I.’ Link some of the sentences together in an effort to cut out those repetitive words.
Having said that I like it and suggest that you finish writing this story as I for one would like to know what happens next. Good luck with it.

What is the deal with sequel titles?
I noticed sometime in the 1990’s movie producers decided to stop numbering sequels, and instead they just added subtitles. Like instead of Die Hard 3 we have Die Hard with a vengeance. Or instead of Final Destination 4 there is the final destination. Or instead of the matrix 2, and 3 we have matrix reloaded, and matrix revolutions. And the list goes on and on. Why can’t we have movies like Rocky or Back to the future or Nightmare on Elm st, that just put numbers in the titles of the sequels? I mean unless you are a fan of the series or do research you won’t know the correct order to watch the movies in. And if the movie MUST have a sub-title why can’t they have a number and a sub-title like terminator 3 rise of the machines or Die Hard 2 Die harder?

Just throwing out a guess, I would say it’s because they are trying to tell you more about what the story is about for the new movie. If it just said The Matrix 2, people might think it was just going to be the same story over again, so they try to give you a clue in the title as to how it’s different from the original. Like I said, it’s just a guess. It is annoying.

Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific.

Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleagues delivered to our Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. It’s more of a sign of respect than a sign of malice or hate. It also makes the game a more "hands on" experience for the fans. It’s no surprise that the loudest and rowdiest crowds are present when an opposing superstar is playing in the house. Does the booing take him out of his game? Who knows. But it’s fun letting him know he’s not playing at home in front of his adoring fans and to not get too comfortable.

I am a Pens fan, so when I see Ovechkin I boo, and when all the Caps fans see Crosby they boo.
It’s part of being a fan, you like who you like, and hate everyone else.

And like Casey G said, it’s all good fun.

Not to mention you guys lost the lead that could have ended the Caps 11 game win streak, I bet there was a lot of boos.

Halloween (1978) IMDB rating: 7.70 Plot: On Halloween 1963, the small town of Haddonfield is shocked when six-year-old Michael Myers returns from trick-or-treating and for some unknown reason stabs his older sister to death with a big kitchen knife and is found by his parents staring into space with the bloody knife in his hand. Now, on October 30th 1978, something triggers Michael off and during a storm manages to steal a car from Dr. Loomis and Nurse Marion (who was coming to take Michael to a court to keep him locked up) and goes back to Haddonfield where he steals a white mask. There, Laurie Stode, Micheal’s younger sister, finds that Michael is stalking her during the day (at school, at her home etc - but she doesn’t know who he is.)
